Blindarte presents the new auction of Modern and Contemporary Art, number 114, with a selection of works of great quality and variety. The collection, coming from important private national and international collections, includes important works of artists active in different countries since the early twentieth century until today, such as Jannis Kounellis, Mimmo Paladino, Sandro Chia, Sol LeWitt, Joseph Beuys, Arnulf Rainer, Mel Ramos, Pablo Picasso, Anton Pevsner, Filippo De Pisis, but also Panamarenko, Tillmans and many others. As usual, with some licenses, the catalogue (already online) follows a time order and embraces from painting to drawing, from sculpture to photography, but also installations and digital works, proposing lots of extraordinary interest, rarity and curiosity. An intense journey through some of the artistic movements that have best represented modern and contemporary art, offering on the market valuable opportunities for economic and cultural investment.

Among the works to be reported: the beautiful and large gouache with blue tones of Sol LeWitt entitled "Loopy Doopy", painted by the artist in 1999 and several times exhibited and published. The important work, typical of the search for "Wall Drawings" that made famous the father of conceptual and minimal American art, is included in auction with an estimated €120,000/160,000. Of absolute relevance is "Hotel", one of the masterpieces of Mimmo Paladino. "Hotel" is a material painting of considerable size (210x261x8 cm), which also has elements applied or assembled to the large canvas executed by Paladino in 1987. The work is highly representative of the artist’s research, as well as of the entire movement of the Transavanguardia, one of the greatest currents of the most recent artistic expressions theorized (by Achille Bonito Oliva) in Italy that have met international success. The movement considers the 80s and 90s as a moment of utmost importance, so much that in 2011 at the Palazzo Reale in Milan was inaugurated curated by Achille Bonito Oliva the great exhibition "La transavanguardia italiana", in which the work presented here has been included with absolute relevance. The large canvas "Hotel" is presented in auction with an estimate of euros 100.000/150.000. Also part of the same movement is the work "Scene Agreste", executed in 1990, by the other great Italian artist Sandro Chia, the large painting (cm 219x138) colorful and highly representative of his artistic research, and strictly in frame of artist, is presented with an estimate of euros 60,000/80,000.

Among the most interesting and noteworthy works, we should mention the installation by Jannis Kounellis, emblematic work of the poetics of the great Greek artist of origin, but Italian adoption, and undisputed father of Arte Povera, movement theorized by Germano Celant in the 1960s and since then has become an undisputed source of inspiration for all future generations of artists. The installation, already defined as powerful and highly symbolic, It belongs to the project presented by the artist for the Todi Festival in 2014 and later in London and refers expressly to several iconic poetics of Kounellis' research: the iron beams, the sharp knife, the newspaper of the day of the exhibition on which it is rolled up, the coat torn from the knife cut and thus hung to it, All these elements make this work one of the most successful. The same theme was chosen by the artist for his last major exhibitions: "Unlimited" at ArtBasel in 2016, where a room was entirely dedicated to him and "senzamargine. Passaggi nell'arte italiana a cavallo del millennio" (2020-2022) at the MAXXI Museum in Rome, where an entire hall of the museum has also been dedicated to him. The work is estimated 90,000/120,000 euros.

One of the most important painting in the catalogue is "J Bonne" by Arnulf Rainer, executed by the Austrian artist in 1988. Already exhibited in the exhibition "La follia dell'Arte" curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, this important work, extremely material, rich of centralization and verticalizations that represent some of the most famous performative practices of the famous Austrian expressionist, is put up for auction at an estimated value of euros 100,000/150,000.
Among the most famous artists of the American POP ART, Mel Ramos is that he was distinguished by the fusion between the images of the most known comics and the figures of the sensual pin-ups, reproduced in American magazines with a mainly consumerist purpose, associated with commercial products and used for advertising purposes. An undisputed example of his art is the work "Unfinished painting #2" that the artist painted on a large canvas in 1991 and which he paints entirely and in minute detail, while giving the painting an intriguing and mysterious aspect of unfinished. The beautiful pin-up on lilac background by Mel Ramos is proposed in auction with an estimated € 120,000/180,000.

Among the works on paper: "Landkarte" by Joseph Beuys.  The artwork, executed in 1959, is extremely relevant, not only because it represents the map of the imaginary journey of the artist through Germany, but also because to make it the artist used materials such as felt and animal fat, symbols of war experience and his artistic philosophy. The work, published in the volume of Germano Celant "Tracce in Italia" of 1978, and in the exhibition catalogue "Lucio Amelio. Dalla Modern Art Agency alla genesi di Terrae Motus (1965-1982). Documenti, opere una storia…" , of 2014-2015. The artist is with the gallerist Lucio Amelio also with the work, exhibited inside the Gallery. The work is proposed with an estimate of 40.000/60.000 euros.

Executed in 1958, the work by Julian Beck "Death by the sea" estimated at 50,000/70,000 euros. But also the large and colorful painting by Shozo Shimamoto, executed in Punta Campanella in 2008 and estimated 40,000/60,000 euros, as well as the blood on canvas by Hermann Nitsch executed in Cuba in 2012 and estimated 30,000/40,000 euros.

To be mentioned: the cubist composition by Mauro Reggiani of 1934 (estimated 15,000/20,000 euros); a painting from the years '10-'20 "Still Life Cubista" by Anton Pevsner (estimated 6,000/8,000 euros); the project by Fortunato Depero of 1956 (estimated 14,000/18,000 euros); the painting "London" of 1933 by Filippo De Pisis (estimated 12,000/16,000 euros); the pastel drawing by Wilfredo Lam from 1960 entitled "Uccelli" (estimated 18,000/25,000 euros); the painted terracotta by Pablo Picasso executed in 1953 entitled "Le Barbu" (estimated 15,000/20,000 euros) and the beautiful work "Interno" by Lucio Del Pezzo executed in 1963 (estimated 20,000/30,000 euros), but also the 2 works by Mario Schifano (including a double monochrome from 1962 and a Dürer tree from the 1970s).

In the more contemporary section, there are works by: Dan Walsh, Donna Huanca, Christian Rosa, Panamarenko, Karin Davie, Piero Golia, Mario Airò and the poetic installation by Gregorio Botta, in the section dedicated to photography Wolfgang Tillmans, Herb Ritts and Armin Linke, in the digital section works by Carlos Garaicoa, Eulalia Valldosera, Lucia Romualdi.
