Online catalogue www.blindarte.com The new catalogs of the BLINDARTE auctions are online, which will be held, after a period of exhibition in the Naples offices (works from auction 106) and Milan (works from auction 107), on Wednesday 31 May at the Naples office, in connection telephone number with the Milan office.

Among the works proposed in this new and long-awaited catalogue, the great and luminous work of François Morellet, one of the greatest precursors of Minimalism in Europe, should certainly be highlighted. 4 A 4 N. 9 is the title of this highly successful and highly representative work by the great French artist. In the work 4 right angles made with neon are mounted on a white square canvas. The right angle, the perimeter fragment of the square, in its iteration is the actor of this sequence. The angle is the first geometric element of the spatial relationship, of the structural and architectural expansion. In Morellet's work, it is the place of interference: it is an original element, the genesis of projection, a point of expansion and at the same time a point of collection of spatial energy. The flow of energy originates from the corner, from its vertex, the lines project to infinity. The result is that of a spatiality extended to branched projections, to a shattered and constantly expanding perception. (quoting the words of the artist released during an interview with Francesca Pola, in 2000 on the occasion of the exhibition at the Studio Invernizzi). The important work, the cover of the catalogue, is presented at auction with an estimate of 50,000 / 80,000 euros.

The work by Michelangelo Pistoletto (Biella, 1933), One day with Cucchi in Pescara (estimate €100,000 / 150,000), will arouse great interest. The work, large in size (220x120 cm), is part of a broad path of reflection by the artist on the mirror, the artistic medium with which Pistoletto has confronted himself throughout his artistic production and thanks to which he has become internationally known. This reflection first leads to the cancellation of the mirror in 1995, with the work presented here, and subsequently to its breaking, in a historic action also repeated in the 2009 Venice Biennale. The work in particular was created by the artist during of a performance held in 1995 at the former Aurum liquor factory in Pescara, on the occasion of an edition of Fuori Uso, a contemporary art event conceived by gallery owner Cesare Manzo and curated that year by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio. The mirrored surface is crossed by large black and orange brushstrokes that seem to deny its function, bringing it back to the role of the canvas, erasing it. The work is also evidence of a strong bond with another famous Italian exponent of recent decades, Enzo Cucchi, to whom the work is dedicated.

Enzo Cucchi is also present in the catalog with a very important work which requires further investigation. Immobile is in fact the title of the great work/sculpture created in 1986 by the great protagonist of the Transavantgarde and presented at auction with an estimate of €50,000 / 70,000. The work is characterized by a play of concave and convex shapes in which Cucchi takes the drawing to a further phase, also involving sculpture; both also interact with light. Originally coming from the Klüser gallery in Munich and registered at the Cucchi Archive in Rome, it is certainly one of the most interesting works presented in this auction catalogue.

In the first part of the catalog the most figurative works of the 20th century are presented, among these it is necessary to focus on the painting by Filippo De Pisis Via Margutta from 1943, in which one can breathe the atmosphere of the Roman street so famous and so dear to the artist, to such an extent that he chose it to establish his Roman studio. The work of approximately 60x35 cm is presented at auction with an estimate of 8,000/12,000 euros. Also worthy of further study is the beautiful 1937 painting by Renato Guttuso entitled Bosco silano con cow, created during one of his visits to the Sila forest, a vast plateau in the Calabrian Apennines. The work, published in the artist's Catalog Raisonné edited by Enrico Crispolti, is presented at auction with an estimate of 25,000/30,000 euros.

Worthy of note is the important painting by Fausto Pirandello, Homage to Giotto, with a rich exhibition and bibliographic curriculum. The work, which fuses cubist decomposition with the visual language of expressionism, is a clear example of Pirandello's importance in the history of contemporary art and is presented at auction with an estimate of €30,000 / €40,000.
Also worth mentioning is the beautiful and very successful watercolor by Giorgio Morandi (estimate €30,000 / 40,000) which portrays his beloved Levico in 1957, the artist's favorite destination during his holidays. A particularly successful work, having been chosen by Michelangelo Antonioni and having been in his personal collection, as mentioned in the catalog raisonné in which the work is published.

We would also like to point out in the catalog the presence of works by two very great artists of international fame, who recently passed away: Christo, with his work The Pont Neuf wrapped, Project for Paris, created in 1985 and very rare for the choice of shot (in which the bridge is visible in its entirety) on which he carried out the usual and characteristic packaging project work, is estimated at 50,000/70,000 euros and the large painting (200x150 cm) by Hermann Nitsch entitled HF_SI_6_07 B from 2007, with unmistakable features and vibrant colors , presented at auction with an estimate of 50,000/70,000 euros.

The iconic work Afrique mountain memory by Nam June Paik (estimate €40,000 / 60,000), undisputed protagonist of techno-art and founder of Video Art. In the work, created in 1991, the TV monitor dialogues with elements of traditional African culture , also thanks to the pictorial material with which the elements are expertly painted, and to the canvas that the artist uses.

With a strong expressive and communicative power, the canvas by Bosco Sodi (estimate €60,000 / 80,000), a Mexican artist recognized worldwide for his material works full of vibrant energy. On the large raw linen canvas, created in 2016 and shown here, the artist used a mixture of pure pigment, sawdust, natural fibres, water and glue to create a structured surface which, after a slow drying process lasting days, generated a monochrome landscape with an almost primordial flavor and an incredible visual impact. A pure, vivid red that explodes and expands on the support without pre-existing a reasoned organization of spaces but at the service of a vibrant energy of the artistic gesture. In fact, the artist defined his production process as a sort of "controlled chaos" which leads to the creation of "something totally unrepeatable".

Among the works proposed, Rebar in gold by Ai Weiwei, one of the best-known and most socially engaged Chinese artists, stands out. The jewel-work was in fact born from the tragic 2008 earthquake in China and from the artist's visit to the affected places, where he was able to collect over 200 tons of twisted steel to then transform into his jewels. This "precious jewel" in 24 carat gold was presented in London in 2016 by Elisabetta Cipriani and is estimated at 35,000/45,000 euros.

Among the protagonists of the international contemporary panorama and constantly rising in the world market, Jan Fabre is present in the catalog with a small group of works among which the large sculpture Antropologie van een planeet (estimate €60,0000 / 80,0000) created in 2008 stands out, where a figure anthropomorphic, digs with a shovel on an enormous brain made of silicone (typical Fabrian subject); and Battlefield (estimate €35,000 / 45,000) from 1998, in which an entire battlefield is reproduced on a large table: the peculiarity is that instead of soldiers swarming on the ground we see beetles, busy moving and in a synchronic march. The green carapaces of the beetles, with their "armor" capable of absorbing light, marching towards the great battle, were also exhibited at the Louvre in an exhibition that confirmed the artist's success at an international level.

Worthy of note in the catalogue: a precious painting by Salvo, in yellow-orange tones, from 1991/93, presented with an estimate of 12,000/16,000 euros; a beautiful painting from 1965 by Giulio Turcato entitled "La pelle", approx. 60x120 cm. and estimated at 12,000/16,000 euros; a very rare “retro d'affiche” by Rotella from 1955, estimated at 12,000/16,000 euros, a material and laborious work by Tancredi, from 1950-51 rich in the intertwining of shapes and signs profoundly influenced by Pollock's dripping and by the spatial experiments of Mondrian, Fontana and more generally of the Spatialism movement, estimated at 26,000/36,000 euros. And again the beautiful work by Anne and Patrick Poirier from 1977 (estimate 4,000/6,000 euros), a mailbox sculpture by Alik Cavaliere, 2 particularly important works by Josef Felix Müller, a painting from 1973 by Aurélie Nemours (estimate 8,000/12,000 euros ), a beautiful work by Lawrence Carroll (estimate 4,800/6,800 euros), a large screen reproducing “Acqua che sale” a digital and sound program by Fabrizio Plessi (estimate 18,000/25,000 euros), a beautiful and typical canvas from 2004 by Aya Takano (estimate 20,000/30,000 euros) and a large one by Josh Smith (estimate 20,000/25,000 euros); a significant canvas by Jorit dedicated to Pino Daniele, 120x100 cm (estimate 8,000/12,000 euros).
