It bears on the back a seal in nineteenth-century sealing wax and an older inscription.
The painting shows on the back the seal of Clorinda Carafa della Stadera (1799-1864) the last Duchess of Maddaloni, which allows us to assume that the painting can be found in the one cited in the inventory of 1713 by Giovanni Battista Rospigliosi at no. 644: "a painting in canvas of half head represents an old woman with crown in hand, work of Guido" (literal. un quadro in tela di mezza testa rappresenta una vecchia con corona in mano, opera di Guido")
