Cerreto Sannita, fine XVIII secolo
Single-handle oil cruet holder
in polychrome painted majolica on a light blue background
cm 10x15x21
resting on four feet, two trays, decorated wavy edges, with floral and leaf motif festoons

The object proposes the theme of polychrome majolica which signified all the taste of the Neapolitan Baroque and Rococo between the 17th and 18th centuries, in a riot of colours and forms celebrating abundance and prosperity, with themes taken from nature to adorn the sumptuously laid tables of banquets.
