Salvino Campos was born in Brazil in 1970 in Quartel Geral, in the state of Minas Gerais, where he began his professional activity in 1992, the year in which he moved to Porto Alegre and where, in 1995, he exhibited for the first time. In the same year he moved to Brasilia. He works as an assistant in the field of advertising and fashion, maturing and acquiring the opportunity to experiment and adopt particular working methods, such as the study of light and the use of large formats. In New York he studied at the ICP ( International Centre for Photography). From 2000 Campos moved to Naples, which became his adopted city and the watershed of his artistic career. Today, he lives and works between Naples and Rio de Janeiro.
"I have to say that I don’t like the photographs I’ve made and I really like working on my roots. I don’t only portray Brazil, but also Naples, for example the Spanish neighborhoods..."
