The Neapolitan artist Elio Waschimps' reflection on children's play is profound and of which the work presented here is an example. He himself states that "the child's play is very mysterious. In fact, when the child plays for example during the week, he symbolically traces his life, draws the deadlines of his life with numbers".

The elusiveness of children's mental mechanisms, the mystery of children's play and the symbolic value of play whose meaning often remains unknown. “The little girls stage merry-go-rounds that have nothing playful about them… They are placed in the depths of a nightmare.”
