Domenico Spinosa is considered one of the most active painters of the Informal area, to which must be traced much of his research. Since 1954 he has participated in all the Biennials, won the Michetti prize, exhibited in Rome, in Spoleto, and several times in Turin; a city in which he was proposed to move: «I didn’t want to leave Naples».
The artist remains very attached to Naples: teacher and then director of the Artistic High School, since 1973 he was the holder of the chair of painting of the Academy.
