During the reign of Carlo III of Bourbone, in the second half of the 18th century, Naples experienced a new cultural flourishing.
In the applied arts this renewal translated into a highly decorative style, influenced by French production. The imposing seats, with large backrests enriched with vegetal motifs, show a baroque heritage combined with rococo motifs, giving life to a great cabinet-making tradition that has made Neapolitan furniture production famous throughout the world.
