Christian Leperino (Naples 1979), painter and sculptor, in his research combines the theme of the urban landscape with reflection on time, memory, the transformations of places and the destinies of the individuals who inhabit them. In his most recent sculptures he alternates the mould with the mould, a trace of a living body, an object, a fragment of art from the past. Matter that absorbs, preserves and returns stories, shapes, moods, in a dialogue between presence and absence, mirages of beauty and echoes of history. His works are present in museum collections and public spaces: Castello Aragonese di Ischia, Museo MADRE Napoli; MMOMA - Moscow Museum of Modern Art in Moscow; IICT in Tokyo; Galleria Civica d'Arte Contemporanea in Suzzara; Mergellina Railway Station, Naples.
In 2015 he founded in Naples the center for contemporary art in the church of Santa Maria della Misericordia ai Vergini (XVI-XVII sec.) long abandoned to neglect and degradation. Thanks to the voluntary work of recovery and valorization circulator in progress, this ancient building of curto has become today a center of activity dedicated to the visual arts and the artistic disciplines with transversal connections to the areas of music, theater and science. He is a lecturer in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples
