Cherubino Gambardella (Naples 1962). He is an architect and professor of architectural design at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli". He has taught and lectured at Miami University, Bauhaus in Dessau, New York University, IIT in Chicago, following several workshops for PHD. In Chicago he took part in the Architecture Biennale. He has been a finalist in the 2006 and 2009 editions of the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture at the Milan Triennale and in 2003 he was part of the winning group.
Itβs been in several editions selected for the Mies van der Rohe Award. He has participated several times in the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale as well as at the Milan Triennale and the Rome Quadriennale. His projects have been exhibited in several museums and foundations in Europe, America and Asia as well as published in the most accredited international architecture magazines.
He has written over twenty books and seven monographs have been dedicated to his work including Beauty Imperfect recently printed by Arquine in three languages and the massive book on his complete work entitled Another Planet Earth.
In 2013 he was one of the international architects invited to MOMA in New York to exhibit two architectural drawings as part of the exhibition CUT'n Paste on the design and collage of the new protagonists of contemporary architecture.
His painting Supernapoli is exhibited at the Museo MADRE in Naples on the catalogue of his latest anthological exhibition entitled Cherubino Gambardella Apocryphal Panoramas until April 5, 2024 at the Royal Palace of Naples.
