Guido Biasi trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples under the direction of Emilio Notte. In the Neapolitan capital he had the opportunity, at a very young age, to frequent the local avant-garde environment, in those years close to the positions of Milanese Nuclear Painting. It is in this way that Biasi came into direct contact with the Lombard group formed around Enrico Baj and, in 1957, wrote the Il manifesto for organic painting and the Albisola Marina Manifesto together with Mario Colucci, Piero Manzoni, Ettore Sordini and Angelo Rod. In 1958 he participated in the foundation of Gruppo 58 with Luca (Luigi Castellano), Lucio Del Pezzo, Bruno Di Bello and Sergio Fergola and began collaborating with «Documento sud», a magazine of the Neapolitan avant-garde. He has exhibited in numerous and prestigious personal and collective exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
"I am, as an artist, a heretic. It is a heresy of conception. Heretic is the spirit of my painting, heretic is the atmosphere. Heretics are color, space (Euclidean), technique I use (traditional), thematic (figurative) etc. Yet my painting is modern"
